Meet Dr. Salazar

Love of Profession

Being a dentist allows me to have a positive impact on people’s health and quality of life. Every day I am able to get people out of pain, restore their oral health, and improve their smiles, all of which mean they are healthier, happier, and enjoy their life more. It’s truly a blessing to be able to serve people, and our Renton Highlands and Puget Sound community in this manner.

I enjoy the relationships that develop between my patients and myself. They not only trust me with their dental care, but they let me be part of their lives, sharing stories about their families and interests. Our exchanges are always fascinating and I find that I learn something from every person.

Each day I come to the practice looking forward to the day ahead. I know I am going to be able to truly help people, I am going to see established patients who’ve become like family to me, and I’ll be meeting new people and learning about them. Being a dentist is incredibly rewarding and I love what I do.

Education and Commitment to Continuing Education

I was awarded my Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 2000 and then completed a three-year Advanced General Dentistry Residency and Fellowship at the University of Connecticut. These experiences provided me with a solid foundational knowledge and skillset in oral healthcare, but I firmly believe that without constant learning I would be unable to give my best to my patients. I am committed to continuous training, which allows me to stay current in the latest advances in dentistry, by attending and participating in meetings, lectures, and various oral health-related courses. I was awarded a Fellowship by the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) for my efforts in continuing education.

Away from the Practice

I’ve lived in Renton, WA since 2006, though I’m a native of Lima, Peru. My wife and I are kept busy with our young twin daughters. Spending time with my loved ones, especially with outdoor activities, is always my highest priority. I do enjoy playing tennis and traveling, as well.

Giving back to and helping people are very important to me. Locally, I have provided dental treatment to the underserved in our community for many years. I have also organized and participated in several international mission trips to Tibet and Peru.
